Grace That Teaches
Read Titus 1:1 through 3:15; Philemon 1:1–25
Lisa remembered fondly the wonderful cooking lessons from her grandmother. These lessons had helped her provide nutritious meals for her family and stay within a limited budget. Now she could teach her daughter and share the joys of those lessons. Such enjoyable life lessons bring great memories. However, nothing compares with the lessons God’s grace provides.
It [God’s grace] teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age (Titus 2:12).
Salvation comes from the grace extended to those who receive the gift of eternal life through Christ. Yet, God’s grace continues after people become Christians. His grace guides them into His truths and helps them see the dangerous traps that sin sets. This grace also gives courage to stand against sin and the strength to stand upon God’s Word.
God’s grace helps His people live the kinds of lives that please Him.
Thought for Today: God’s grace is sufficient.
